Oliver Collyer, en av bröderna som en gång i tiden skapade Championship Manager som blev Football Manager, ger här sin syn på mötet Everton-Tottenham.

Q. What are your thoughts about the season thus far?

A. From an Everton perspective our season only started after a slow couple of months. That’s cost us a chance of competing properly for a top-four place, so while we’ve been strong since then, and of course reached the Cup Final there is also a feeling that it could have been better. But that’s probably just being greedy :)

Q. What’s it like in the Everton camp ahead of the game. Injuries, form and so forth?

Form and confidence is high after the professional display put on at Sunderland. It would have been easy for the players to have one eye on the Cup Final at this stage, but that would be to underestimate David Moyes – the man seems so driven that I don’t think he would allow that, and if players did take their eye off the ball they’d know about it (and probably miss the Cup Final as a result)

Injury-wise, well we lost Jagielka the other week, the latest in a line of blows to go with Yakubu, Arteta…

Yobo has come in and done a good job though, so we’re hopeful that it won’t affect things too much.

One of the notable aspects of the season for us has been the players’ resilience to keep on going and the manager’s tactical astuteness to keep on adapting and coming out with results – and we’ve played some decent football at times too.

Q. Any players Spurs should be aware of?

A. Pienaar is the man in form at the moment I’d say – stop this little engine in our midfield and you’ll win a big part of the battle. He’s linking up nicely with likes of Osman, who is having a great season, and Jo who while he misses as many as he scores does seem to help make us look like a “proper” football team rather than the long ball/hoof/get-stuck-in merchants we’ve been all too often in the last decade or two!

Shame we’ll be too skint to afford to keep him in all likelihood!

Q. Expectations on the game?

A. Probably another injury!

It’ll be close I think, the Goodison matches seem to have been in recent years.

Q. Any Spurs players you fear?

A. I think the last time I watched an Everton/Spurs game and genuinely feared one of your players was when you had Gascoigne. I remember watching a game at Goodison and it was just panic when he got the ball as you didn’t know what he was going to do with it.

Now I guess you’re looking at the likes of Modric and Lennon as potentially dangerous. Lennon obviously has the pace to trouble any defence but is he the modern day Franz Car? And if we give the scruffy-looking Modric too much space he looks like he could cause some damage.

Q. What are your thoughts on Spurs’ season?

Well you obviously had a bad start, and unsurprisingly sacked your manager which seems to have become something of a habit.

I guess the question is what level can Harry take you to? Can he have Spurs challenging for the top four again? Or is he just the man to turn to when you are in a mess?

Q. What are Everton fans thoughts on Tottenham and Tottenham fans?

I think we see ourselves as similarly big clubs but who have massively underachieved since the start of the “Sky” era, though we have more league titles in our history :p

Spurs seem to have more financial clout which makes it seem even worse that you should have a season like you just had when it was full of such promise at the start. You need to stick with a manager for a change!!!

Q. Score prediction?

A. I think it’ll finish up 1-1.
